Hi Michael, do you know which species issai is a variety of?, some species are fully hardy, some are only frost hardy, although Actinidia deliciosa only frost hardy, unless the shoots have been well ripened in summer.
all need to be grown in full sun, in fertile well drained soil, and sheltered from strong winds.
I don't know wher you are in uk, but frost hardy means that a plant can withstand temperatures down to minus 5 deg c, Derek.
