Asparagus advice please
This is a question I have asked before but I would like additional clarity please.
I am about to plant out my asparagus seedlings and the roots are as long as the stem, about 4 to 6 inches. I know crowns are supposed to be planted on a mound of earth with their roots draped down either side as they are very shallow rooted plants.
If that is the case what do I do with the roots of these seedlings? I was intending to just make a deep whole with a dibber and plant away.
Any advice would be great, I've looked on line but I haven't been able to find much info about growing asparagus from seed, just the crowns
Many thanks, John
