Looks like a young Rosebay Willow Herb to me and if it is I would be uprooting it now!

Don't think it is that as the stalk is growing centrally through six leaves which are like a ruff and Rosebay is a single leaf on the stem. Thanks for the information though Moongrower.

Hum... yes you are right yet I still, somehow, think this is one of the willow herbs - and I am not the oracle some folk like to think I am :-)

Thanks Seaburngirl, not sure, have been trying to get a picture of veronicastrum leaves without flowers but all I can find are the flowers and not really a comparison, but found one with flowers and leaves and it does look like it could be. I shall just have to be patient and see what the flower is like. I hope it is veronicastrum I like that a lot. lol :O) thanks again for trying to help. :O)

Seaburngirl, you were spot on, have seen it at a garden today and it is definitely veronicastrum in fact think it is VERONICASTRUM. SCROPHULARIACEAE it has now developed a pink flower spike and is beginning to look v.pretty. Thanks for your help in answering my query. :O)
