DAMSONTREE PRUNING.....I have a large damson tree in the far corner of my garden which needs pruning. I was told some time ago that the time to do this is mid summer.Does anyone know if this is true or should I stick to the dormant period December or Januarjy? The tree is, I would say, about 25 feet tall.

Previous question
It should be done in summer. The reason is that if done in winter the tree is susceptible to being infected by silver leaf. I've done mine already. (No danger of cutting the fruit off as it was so cold and windy that none set!)
