When it was in the ground, and not growing well, what did it look like (the leaves, etc) that made it look unwell? Can you recall whenyou first planted it in the ground, and how long you kept it there till removing it to a pot?

All leaves were falling and colour of leaves changed . They looked kind of dead and droopy. I don't remember how long I kept but now I know certain plants do not grow in my soil:(

I have clay soil and set up all my Hardy Perenniels in pots last year. They get the right feed, get covered with bark chippings to conserve moisture, and can be covered for the winter months. Only problem now is looking for larger pots when they grow. Pieris needs Ericateous compost, semi-shade, and correct feed every 6 weeks during the summer.

Diane Pieris only needs feeding in containers if, like ourselves, you are able to grow in the ground then you never need to feed.

Shahida, from the appearance/symptoms you describe, it doesn't sound like a ph problem, much more likely to be shortage of water at various times. Newly planted shrubs need watering fairly frequently if there's not the equivalent of a torrential deluge of rain every 3 or 4 days during their first year, especially if they're planted in the ground in spring or early summer. A sprinkle of rain every week isn't enough, the whole rootball needs to be soaked, which it gets when its in a pot, but maybe didn't get when in the ground.

Thank you Bamboo. I will try once again:)

You may just have to keep in growing in a container... Pieris and heavy clay is not a good mix.
