Its Arum maculatum, a wild flower that has a cowled greenish flower that produces red berries in the autumn. It has a gnarled beige underground corm. I have many and they are lovely. however the smell is a bit odd. They have lots of common names. I like Lords and Ladies personally though they are also called Jack in the Pulpit.

Oh thank you, we have just moved into a old Victorian house and has quite a nice garden, with ferns etc and was wondering whether this pictured plant was a weed! May put some other pictures on too as not sure of some others. Once again many thanks.

A weed is any plant that you don't want, so my dad thought lupins as weeds as he didn't like them. A lot of us enjoy identifying plants so ask away :o)
Welcome to GoY too.
