Planting dwarf french beans but don't know how deep to make the compost in potato planter bags. They are 12" in diameter and can be rolled down to size. The variety of bean is 'Tendergreen'. Thanks

Hi, I don't grow spuds, but my understanding is that you put about4-6inches of soil in the bag, plant your spuds, and as they grow, keep on adding more soil, so that it's just the top couple of inches of the shoots that are visible, until you eventually get to the top of the bag, then wait for them to flower and go yellow, and die off, then harvest them, maybe someone will answer with experience of growing spuds, Derek.
