I wouldn't do it until the roots have started to show out of the bottom of the pots. If you "stop" them at the same time as potting them up, it can stress them out (yep, plants get stressed too !!!). Get them established then stop them

yes I agree they need chance to put the roots out. I tend to give them a couple of weeks in their new pot then pinch the tips out, either way they will then bush out a bit.
