I would like to dig up a miniature azalea and put it into a pot, the azalea has just finished flowering. It has been in the ground for about eight years. When is the best time to do this.

thanks

After eight years to azalea is going to have a well established root system and you may find it isn't possible to lift - I'd wait until early autumn to do now and make sure you get as big a rootball as possible.

Thanks MG, I will wait until the autumn. It just doesn't look right where it is.

By the way my acer that you gave me advice on is doing really, so thanks again, My mothering law was delighted when she saw it!
