how di grow blueberries

Answers

Ericaceous compost (or if you're lucky to be able to grow rhododendrons and azaleas in the garden, then in the garden), and best in groups of at least three, because although some are self pollinating, they fruit far better when in group plantings.

Hello, Blueberries like an acid soil and they need a high manured rich soil,
The preperation needs to be done a few weeks pre planting and the soil tested to make sure it is acid type soil,
they will not live very long if your soil is not correct.

I am told that your soil pH should be between 4.5-5.5, but not less than 4.0. You also need 4 hrs minimum of sun. For 2-5 yr old plants you must water 2 gallons a week if rainfall less than 1/2 inch per week. and water everyday that temp is over 85 degrees (From Spring to Frost), then adjust pH as needed as tap water may be alkaline...as it is in TN. Hole prep before planting is essential and pH is the most critical thing!

Water with rainwater from the butt rather than water from the tap. I have just the one bush, 'Tophat' I think. It's in ericacious compost in a pot on a south-facing patio. It's about three years old and I get enough fruit for my breakfast cereal for a few weeks in summer.
