? how tall does a madles gold strelitzia have to be to flower here in uk the one in the front is the mandel's gold with the most in the pot

Well I've had strelitzia in a pot for six years, going into the seventh, its 3feet tall,and its not flowered yet tho I haven't been good at potting on regularly nor feeding it,and its not really been warm enough,even indoors. Doesn't usually flower before at least four years old if small to start with, and by that time, should be contained in a large pot at least 9 inches high and wide. Looks like all of yours have some way to go before they're ready to flower.

I can now see something in the picture I couldn't see on my small tablet - looks like the one at the back on the right has had some flowers already?

thank you for your reply i hope your strelitzia flowers very soon for you the one at the back which flowered was orange reginae which flowered for the first time last winter bought it back in 2009 4 in one pot i always feed mine very often with hen manure good luck with your strelitzia

i bought the mandels gold this year in May bought 25 of them 22 in one pot in a 50 litre pot hight between 50 cm and 70 cm tall are the flowers bright yellow or not because never seen a yellow one in flower

I'm feed up with mine, even tho I know its my fault for not feeding it properly, last chance this year for it

? where's it kept in side the house is it in the conservatory or just in a living room if u got a conservatory it would do great because needs heat to flower. ? do u have other reginae and i think the flower is well worth the wait at 3 foot with mine reginae they usually flower when 100 cm plus so yours not fare off that. ? has yours started to crown yet

those that are on the table are mandel's gold 15 cm tall and are not growing that quick

It's in my sitting room, I don't have a conservatory. I imagine the temperatures are too low for it as well as not being fed.

that well might be the case but i suggest don't give up on your strelitzia yet because it may surprise u and flower lets hope

I might give it a bit longer, but its not the most attractive looking plant, very tall and gawky looking thing. I'll let you know if it flowers...
