Lucky you! I bought two this year but they are biennial and so won't flower until next year. Yours are well developed, any sign of a flower stem beginning?

When the flowers are over you can dry them and spray them gold for Christmas flower arrangements. They are carnivorous, in that the leaves form little dishes around the stem where insects drown, and the plant can then digest them. Its a jungle out there!

Did you have a bird feeder at any time? I once had teasels grown from dropped seeds.

Never knew that about the insects how clever !(you and the plant)

The flowers fascinate me as the come in bands around the flower head, then if you are lucky seed eating birds like goldfinches may come.....
The dried heads were used to 'tease' the wool to get it the right texture before spinning, rather like carding today.
