We have a small garden and so I have to put the bird table in my flowerbed.
We get loads of birds, but I find it difficult to plant under it, the bird droppings
seem to kill off the plants and the soil gets trodden down by pigeon feet. Any ideas for planting?

I wonder if you could get a bird feeding station which is pigeon-proof, ie will also stop squirrels, rats or any other bullies helping themselves? This would mean you wouldn't get the damage to the bed directly below. Just a thought.
