Hello there.
I bought six shallots from a Garden centre, Planted them and they have grown. I went back for another ten, to find out, that they were all sold.
On the way home I passed a grocery shop selling shallots, looked the same as the others that I had bought, but they never sprouted, Q.Is there a difference between Shallots from a garden centre and the grocer.

Sounds like the Shallots from the shop were treated to prolong their shelf life. Frequently done without anyone noticing.
