I have a lot of Honesty growing in my small garden, mostly behind a small pond. Now that it is no longer flowering, it has become very floppy, falling over the pond, together with some Alkanet which we leave for the bees which seem to love it. It all looks quite messy and uncared for. My question is, will the Honesty seed pods still become translucent if I cut the stems now, instead of waiting till they change colour on the growing plant?

They do tend to become tall and floppy,Lcorner,so I cut some of the tops off, leaving some stems lower down ,which still have seed pods on,to become translucent..a shame not to see those later in the season..

Thanks for your reply. I've compromised by keeping some plants where they aren't troublesome, and taking out others where they are. I'll keep an eye on the rest and take your advice as necessary.
