A friend of mine is getting married June this year...Her bouquet is going to be cream coloured roses....her bridesmaids dresses are pale blue with teal and she would like to know what flowers would be available in June for the bridesmaids bouquets in the palest blues...

Here's a few more ideas - Agapanthus if it's late June, Campanula persicifolia, some Irises - you'd have to choose the right one, of course, but they can be pale blue and flower in June - or how about sprays of Wisteria if anyone around your area has one? Ceanothus...Lavender. I've run out of pale blue ideas now, Motinot!

Motinot - iIf you go to my home page and click on the 'Photos' tab, then choose the 'June' tag, this will show all the flowers I have photographed in my garden in June. There should be some blue ones among them to give you some ideas

Cliffo mecs. don't behave well as cut flowers sadly... Wonderful flowers though we have them growing in the garden.

As an ex-florist Motinot, I always reccomended a contrast, with perhaps a touch of the dress colour. Because, in photographs brides & bridesmaids are usually asked by the photographer, to hold their bouquets in front of them and much as it's lovely to have the same colour as the dresses, the shape & look of the bouquet gets lost on a photograph. A typical example was a wedding I did. Lemon flowers against lemon dresses looked completely washed out. But, just my opinion. Have a lovely day.

Thank you everyone for all the great ideas...I'll give her the lists and she can talk to the florist...some beautiful blues there Andrew....Mecs would have been gorgeous Cliffo...i love them, thanks for your knowledge MG....Pamd, i dont think she was going for one colour bouquet for the bridesmaids, she said she would like some pale blue in their flowers to contrast with her ivory roses....

My mind has gone blank - blue isn't an easy colour, but there are pale blue Delphiniums, Amsonia is a pale blue too - you can get sweet pea seeds where the flowers are cream edged in pale blue, as well. There's time to grow those...just...and Veronica gentianoides is also a very pretty pale blue.
I'll try to think of others, and I have a book which has flowers catalogued under colours. I'll look in there. :-)
