I have approx 45 petunias & 40 odd geraniums all grown from plug plants. I also have 15 nicotiana grown from seed. They've all grown well with lots of healthy foliage. However they're all still in thier pots or seed trays because apart from about half a dozen geraniums there's not a single flower! Any ideas?

I agree, get them planted out, you don't have to wait until they start flowering before you plant them out, Derek.

Thanx guys. I realise that I can plant out b4 flowering ( been round the block a few times!) My point is, how come garden centres & nurserys produce flowering plants yet as a mere
amateur I'm really struggling to do likewise. This year seems to be a mare, I've got lillies in the border that are usually flowering their socks off by now but they refuse to come out.

I would guess that the professionals have grown in optimal light and heat conditions to stimulate the right kind of growth.
Same as when exhibitors get plants ready for the big shows.

Get them planted out, it will give them a chance to spread themselves, and with warm weather coming they should take off now. Lots of these things are slow this year.
