To be pedantic, it's not a true jasmine, but because the commercials like to give everything a common name, it got called 'Star jasmine'. Sun, a warm wall, and it'll love you. Very sweetly scented flowers July-ish onwards. Like all climbers, it prefers a cool root run, so don't let it dry out in a pot.

And remember, the rule of thumb for climbers in pots, if the tub is x cm wide and tall, the vine will grow 4x cm wide and tall--i.e., a vine in a tub 70 cm wide and tall, will fill up a trellis 280 cm wide & tall.

If it's a sensible sized pot/container anything can be contained.
I have one of these, it's in a sheltered and south facing position, in the ground, and it's evergreen.
