I have very healthy and robust Lupin in my garden. Last year it produced a very impressive display of flowers. However, the top and bottom of the flowers opened but all of the midway unopened buds fell off. I put this down to the bad summer we had in 2012. However, this year the same thing happened. I removed all of the flowers and a second flush appeared but again the same thing happened. Has anyone had the same problem. I have other Lupins in my garden, which grow normally.

I often get this on just one plant too. I suspect it is to do with hormone levels in the plant when the flowers formed.
