Pear blossom in July? I have 3 pear trees, Doyenne du comice, Williams and Conference. Last year, with the weather, the crop was terrible but this year they are all behaving and fruiting normally - except, yesterday I noticed 3 small areas of blossom on the Doyenne about 3 months after the genuine blossoming time. Sorry about the photo quality but we had high winds yesterday and OH politely refused to come and hold the tree still whilst I took a picture. But seriously, has anybody any idea why, instead of getting a June drop, I am getting a July re-blossom?

It's just the tree reacting to a slow start this year, and some buds not developing fully until now, and throwing a few flowers. Like us, they're not bound by the rules. It happens.
