i have found this growing in my front lawn, please could you tell me what flower it is and what i should do with it

Wow !!! If you do move it, make sure you take a good lot of soil with it....Orchids rely on a microscopic fungus called micorrhyza and each type of fungus is unique to that species of orchids.
One of my colleagues on Brighton city parks is breeding orchids (he was on the local news the other day) and working alongside plumpton college, mcbeans orchids and wakehurst place. Fascinating stuff.

I think I saw some wild orchids on beachy head Andy?

Definitely cherish it. It is an orchid of the Dachtylorhiza genus. Put the name of your location and Dachtylorhiza into a search engine and it may give you some ideas of what grows locally.

it is one of the native orchids. cherish it avoid mowing round it and it will come up year on year. or after flowering carefull dig down there will be a bulb like structure at the base and remove it to another part of your gaden. I have a bee orchid now in the rockery as where it was was not a safe place for it.
