Martagon lily or hybrid thereof

I reckon that's one of the best of lilies, understated, and classy.

Indeed a martagon or turks cap lily. I have several in the garden and left pretty much alone by the lily beetle who seem to prefer the asiatics or L pardalinum.

Thankfully the dreaded lily beetle isn't as far north as we are!

Thanks for your help. I have trawled through 3 Garden plant books and not been able to find it. I saw it in a garden in Scotland and thought how beautiful it was. Now I will be looking for the real thing.

Yes it is very happy in Scottish gardens
