Have got a shrub that is taking over the garden cannot remember its name but it gets pink fluffy flowers on it,we have cut it down to ground level now I want to know how can I kill it without killing everything else around it,it is now even growing under the lawn the roots are horrendous to get out.

Your description of the suckering roots suggests one of the Staghorns to me, possibly Rhus typhina - a north American native shrub. I suspect that the only way to get rid of it is to dig it up, including all the roots under the lawn, etc.

If you are not getting shoots coming up in the lawn from the roots then killing the stump with SBK should work. If its the Rhus try SBK-ing the stump and then mowing very regularly - not much can survive very long without any leaves at all. You can always dig the whole area up if this doesn't work but if it does its a lot easier. If you have a phot of the shrub someone will be able to remind you what it is.

Sounds like snowberry ? I have the same so would be interested in hearing the answer to getting rid of it. People had suggested SBK before to me. Good luck
