I am delighted with the growth that my Azaleaa have put on. In fact I am delighted that I can grow them at all; My previous garden was in the chalky Chiltern hills, so being able to grow them is a new experience...
The question is - Should they be pruned?
If so, how much and when?

Ah, thanks for that. I was hoping it was the case that I could let them be.

I've never pruned my azaleas except to cut back any overly long shoot that spoils the symetry of the bush

I've only ever tidied mine up after flowering, perhaps to shape the bush. I then water and feed well to encourage growth for the next year's flower
