Hi Everyone,
I have two questions.
I work near St Pauls Cathedral (in London) and in the sitting area they have
painted all the tree trunks a bright blue.
1. Does it harm the trunk?
2. If not, what type of paint is used.
Many thanks

Out of interest, why have they?

No idea; nature not good enough???

That's a terrible idea. The gardener should be sent off to work doing something else eg laying gravel gardens.

What a weird thing to do! There must be a reason. Google??

The idea of painting trees blue was started in Australia about 10 years ago by an artist who had heard about trees being decimated in Asia and with consultation with "Friends of the Earth" decided to paint background trees blue to make them stand out and get media coverage to draw attention to this devastation.
This practice quickly spread to the USA and the idea seems to have found it's way over here.
