I get RUNNER BEANS showing : Grows on You

I get RUNNER BEANS showing, about an 1" and then they seem to disappear next day, Who/what is taking them?

I AM SURE IT IS NOT BIRDS

Look for little banded snails, the striped ones? They climb great distances.
