I GROW FRUIT, VEG & HERBS ON MY ALLOTMANT AND DO VERY WELL. WE WILL SHORTLY BE MOVING TO ROSCOMMON IN SOUTHERN IRELAND, WHICH IS MORE OR LESS A PEAT BOG. DO I HAVE ANY CHANCE OF STILL GROWING THE STUFF I GROW NOW?

Think you will find it a challenge to grow crops on a peat bog but if you create raised beds with a mixture of good soil and compost you should still be able to grow a lot of your food still. Herbs you could possibly grow in a herb planter.

The fruit likes it a bit more acidic - and you could always grow blueberries!!

When you get there, go for a walk round the village and
look over the fences to see what other gardeners are growing. They may also possibly have a Gardening Club
where you could get plenty of advice.
I am making raised beds on sub-standard clay soil.
Putting all my compost in a heap 41"square to rot down
with Garrotta. Then adding the raised bed walls, being made for me from old floorboards coated with wood preservative.
Then topping with 3 Grow bags to make a surface compost. Will keep adding old potting mix, anything to fill them up.
This produces a compact compost to work with in future years. Good luck.
