I had a great row of broad beans until the wind got into it and now they have flopped badly, lots of broken stems. I'm trying to dream up a frame to protect them next year and any ideas would be welcome.

Ive done something similar - a row of sticks several feet apart on each side of the row of plants, and then criss cross twine across them. Its easier to do this if you grow them in blocks rather than rows.

Have to say all our broad beans are now harvested and in the freezer :)

I used some as salad for the first time this year, in a yogurt and mint dressing - gorgeous.

Sounds easy. Thanks, folks.

If you are growing them in a line then posts at either end of the row with two cross pieces on each post and binder twine, or similar, to keep them upright is what we use.
