cut back heather?Following the very hot weather we had in july 2013 most of the Heather in my garden has gone brown, and looks dead.I decided that I would cut it back and found that the woody stems were actually still green! I am now worried that I have may damaged them and they will die off? Is there any chance that they will regenerate as they look very sorry for themselves at present.I think that most of them were Vulgaris genus..Any help appreciated Michael,, Devon.

Up on the moors the keepers set fire to the Heather.
It regenerates it every year.
