Sorry, sent that before I intended. Escallonia 'Iveyi'. Great shrub for milder/seaside locations, or where protected. Hardly a spectacular flowerer, but it's an autumn one which is useful, and I prefer it to its cousins which are widely used as hedging and border shrubs. It just looks classier and the leaves have that lovely gloss to them that the others don't match. Other escallonias to look out for are 'Gold Ellen' and 'Gold Brian' which need a little protection from the hottest sun or they scorch. Both have very attractive foliage.

Lol Scotcat, I assumed you didn't have your specs on! I missed the flowers at first too and thought camelia.
