We have had a victoria plum tree for 26 years having plenty of good fruit.This year plenty of blossom but small plums,and at least 50% are going rotten with little worms inside, can anybody give advice on possible cause and what to do?

It could be plum moth or sawfly. Apart from throwing away the infected fruit there's not really much you can do this season. If it's plum moth then you can use traps and/or insecticide. Sawfly needs to be treated with insecticide next season about a week or so after the petals have fallen, prior to the fruit maturing.
