Hi there, could someone advise me? I would like to plant a Lilac in my garden but we have very sandy soil, what should I add to it in order to grow one successfully please?
Many thanks.

The usual advice for sandy soil is to incorporate organic matter and mulch to preserve water, must be well rotted though

Thanks Pamg, it's more or less what I thought, sandy soil can be a godsend especially when it comes to digging but it has absolutely no 'guts' to it.

How do I say thanks?
