that question was asked a few weeks ago and someone answered they bruise it with a strimmer then use roundup on it. its a very hard weed to get rid as its leaves are waxy and need damageing

If it is in a lawn, then regular mowing will weaken and kill it, over at least 1 year. The main problem is with it in borders. They have a mass of underground roots and you really do need to keep strimming and using herbicide on it. Ideally you would cover such an area for 2 years to be sure the Marestail is dead.
