I have obtained a couple of bags of manure to dig over in my newly dug bed, will this be ok as my soil is between neutral & acid.. Should I put anything else with it too? Thx

Hi Denise what are you planning on using the land for once you've dug the manure in and is it well rotted?

Hi Moon growe, I only picked up the manure today so was going to dig it over tomorrow Not sure what state it's in.. Does it matter? The bed will have a mix of grasses, sambuca nigra, heucheras pittosprums & indigofera... my list is quite large & wouldn't want to bore you with it

Manure is normally used on the vegetable garden, I'm not sure what effect it will have in a flower border. If the manure isn't well rotted then there is the possibility of the roots of plants being burnt - unless you leave for several months before planting.

Thanks again, I really didn't know, so may not put it in. Me thinks i'll leave it to rot down then put on my veg patch instead.
