I have a clematis artmanii joe which is supposed to be evergreen but some of the leaves are now turning yellow - what is wrong?

Hi, welcome to g o y, how long have you had the plant?, it could just be shedding a few of the older leaves, even "evergreens" don't keep their leaves forever, but shed them throughout the year, having said that, this species is only half hardy, so if it's in a cold spot, it might be too cold for it, Derek.
