Pruning of Cytisus `zeelandia` broom because this is getting too large width wise can the bottom stems be stripped off to make it grow more like a tree.

Hi, this is a rounded, bushy, deciduous shrub, which grows to about 5ft height and spread, so you will never make it into a tree, but I suppose if you want to cut some of the bottom branches off, I don't think it would do it any harm, but if you want it to regrow, don't cut into old wood, Derek.
