Does anyone recognise this ornamental grass?
Saw it this evening at B&Q, pots are just labelled "ornamental grass" with no growing instructions, height etc. I've googled images of variegated grass but couldn't find anything. The plants are about 12 inches high (£7.98 for a 8" pot). Sort of thought it might be a bamboo but thought they would sell it as that if it was. (Quite hoping that it is a papyrus but again think it would be properly identified on the label if it was)
Apologies the pics aren't very clear - it was a bit dark out in the yard.

It looks like a type of variegated Moor grass, possibly Molinia caerulea 'Variegata'.

photos from i-Pad frequently end up sideway or upside down when see on a computer.

I can see why you think it might be a short bamboo - the stems with growth at the top make it look like that, so it could be, you'd have to see how the stems thickened up - or not. Otherwise, check out Hakonlechloa aureum or aureus or something similar - in pictures, it looks like a hummock of weeping grass, but in fact, it has stems with growth mostly at the top. The leaves on it are soft and longer than those in the pics though, but if it was cut back at some point, this is what you'd see.

Hmm not convinced it matches other images of either Molinia or Hakonlechloa. Decided to give it a miss for now not in a rush to buy plants but will keep a look out in places that have proper labels on their pots.
