Hi everyone, I need some advice on my plum tree, Its only a few years old and one branch on one side, the only main branch on that side doesn't seem healthy. there is a hole near the base which I think is a rat hole as any fallen fruit disappears overnight, As the rat damaged the root at that side, and should I prune out that branch, this is the second year the leaves have gone yellow and there has been no fruit on that side, I do not like using rat poison and as I never seen the rat ,I think live and let live, can anyone help.

thanks Driad, I can't believe that we are the only ones to have had this kind of trouble, I'm sure there will be someone out there who can help.

Hi Taz , I've had trouble with my young plumb tree for the past 2yrs ; lovely blossom , five fruit last year that were invaded by some penetrating insect , and one this year that just withered .
The leaves have curled up , and I've found tiny caterpillars in the curls !
Not your problem I know , but it does sound as though that side of your tree is ailing , someone else on here will help though .
I need help , too !
