In the last few years swedes and beetroot have not formed in out garden

In the last few years swedes and beetroot have not formed in our garden. The seeds grow and the leaves develop but the swede and beetroot do not expand.
Potatoes, cabbage, runner beans and marrows all still do well.
We wondered about a soil analysis but are not sure.
Could you please advise.

Don't know but try adding a high phosphate fertiliser. Check your soil's pH, they don't like acid soil. If rhododendrons grow well around you and hydrangeas are mostly blue then add lime to your soil.Some good compost wouldn't come amiss.
