looking after purple climbing clematis

The petals on my purple clematis have almost gone now. Is there anythng I need to do with the stem that is left.

No, just keep feeding it, each month, with a general purpose fertiliser. And of course water it if the weather is dry. Do you know its name/pruning group? It is likely to be a group 2 if it has flowered. These plants need a gentle prune in early spring.
