My laurel hedge (15 years old) leaves are shrivelling and being "eaten away" by "something" - the whole 12 yard hedge is affected for the last 2 years - what can I treat it with ?? - thanks

Before knowing how to treat, we need to know what is doing the damage. Is there any chance of a photo please? I'm thinking it could be weevils or earwigs, or there might be a pest specific to this species.
