Composting dead weeds that have gone to seed? I have a bunch of dead weeds, although many seem to have gone to seed. These have been dead throughout the summer heat. Can I add them to the compost pile, or am I asking for trouble with the seeds germinating later if it doesn't get hot enough?
THANKS!

not recommend to put into compost ,if you dont want to throw them out, steep them in water for a few months till they rot, then you have some fertilizer, (though it be smelly )

Unless your compost gets very hot I would not suggest adding them, the seeds are still viable. In the UK we have 'brown bins' for garden waste and this is where I'd be putting those weeds.
