Salvia 'purple queen'
I have been given a woody straggly plant, very pot bound.
any one grow it and if so any tips? how hardy? I wont be able to get it into a bed until next year.

According to the Salvia specialists, Dyson, this one's hardy if planted somewhere well drained, sheltered and sunny, but their advice is to plant in spring and not now. Which I guess means, where you are, you'd need to overwinter it somewhere less exposed.
