yes its a good time. the soil is still warm.
dig the hole x2 the size of the pot or bigger if you can. I'd personally mix some compost and slow release fertilizer into the soil you've dug out. plant it to the same depth that it was in the pot, back fill with the improved soil and keep well watered. This needs to be done for a month or two especially if the weather is dry.
if the roots are tight and wound in the shape of the pot then gently loosen them so they will move out into the surrounding soil and then it will grow away better.
