Some people are very wary of giving any information on a new site. Sometimes they have had a negative experience before. I did not give any additional details until I had used the site a few times. And inexperienced gardeners don't always realise that such information is helpful to get a proper answer.

Such info is vital at times, someone living in Cornwall has very different growing conditions than someone on the Shetland Islands.

I agree with everything! I think I added my details after I'd received answers to my first question and felt confidant that I wanted to stay. Perhaps a note to the site owners asking for county/region/US state being a required answer would do the trick.
I'd also like to see "Answers" changed to "Replies", it might help newcomers to attach their thank you (or supplementary comments) to the original question.
And while we're asking, how about world peace, an end to poverty and summers like they used to be! :o)

World peace? Poverty, summers? In answer to that, summers haven't changed - it usually drizzles through Wimbledon, it drizzles on Christmas Day, there's always a good spell of weather in September/October. The other two might come in Fairyland!

Replies instead of Answers is a jolly good idea - techies please note!

Agree replies would be better than answers... It's so mild here right now the Sorbus cashmiriana is putting out new baby leaves!

We can ask but some folk simply wont respond Snoop, which can make answering some questions a challenge!
