i have a carnation plant that seems to be getting to cramped can i just split it and plant this time of year

or root cuttings in water on a bright kitchen windowsill. when rooted pot up and keep in a cool well lit spot until next spring when you can harden them off and plant out side.

Carnations usually grow from a single woody stem and therefore can't be split. They do respond well to being cut back though. To propagate, take cuttings in august or september
