Hi all this is my Hedychium Coronarium in flower on 3/11/13 what's going on ? It usually flowers late Summer and now I'm usually thinking about cutting it down and covering it up for the Winter, shall I wait for a frost or cut it down now ? There are also new shoots at ground level.

Thank-you Ken because its so late it confused me ( doesn't take a lot ) yeah I'll do as you say, I usually just chuck a pile of leaves over it. Roy.

It flowers -Mid Summer
Late Summer/Early Fall - Cut flower spikes at the end of the season - I would bring indoors before 1st frost hits it - or cover it well -- Ken
