is hog louse good or bad for a pond?

Answers

Asellus aquaticus, water hog-louse, don't cause a problem in ponds - they are detritus feeders.

they eat up a lot of waste materials like woodlice in a wood. As MG says they are detrivores. I consider them to be part of a healthy pond ecosystem. also an indicator of good water quality. so a goody to have.
