My Bosch 1600 electric shredder (the one with the Archimedes type screw cutting blade) has given up the ghost. They no longer make it (s...s).
Anyone use one of the turbine cutting types?

Impact ones have a pair of blades rather than the screw. I have one of those, it is very poor.

Hmm. Dunno then, really. I've been thinking about getting one for a few years, to break up woody debris before composting, as my current system for composting branches is a complete failure. But I keep coming up with excuses to spend the money on plants instead...

Never used a shredder myself, but in last month's Gardening Which? review it was a turbine type that scored the most, Bosch AXT25TC at £400.
I think the type with the screw is what they call an impact type, which if you liked that they can be the cheapest - Bosch AXT Rapid 2200 at £180 scored well in the same review.
