Just a quick question from a newbie: Can I add the old compost from a potato grow bag to my compost pile? Otherwise, what do I do with it? Morgan.

But search for tiny potatoes first. They have a habit of growing in the most awkward places.

Thanks very much for your answers. Can I just ask though, potatoes seem to draw all the nutrients from the compost and can have bugs associated with them that other crops do not like. Is this true? If so, could putting old compost from a potato grow bag onto a compost heap or onto soil harm the heap or soil?
You may guess that I am very new to this, but do really want to learn. Sorry for asking dumb questions!
Morgan.

You would be better not using it on ground that you plan to use for potatoes or tomatoes this year, Lecky, but otherwise it should be OK.

Thanks Bulbaholic, understand. But what about puting it my compost bins. Would it cause a problem? Morgan

put it in your compost bin and mix it in with the other compost ,but make sure the are no little pots in it,it will help brake down the other compost in your bin

Thanks a lot Stroll. I was just a little worried that the used potato compost would polute the other compost.
Thanks again. Morgan

I would put it straight onto my soil and lightly fork it in as a soil conditioner
